The Park in Chorzów is one the most unique place in Poland. The Park emerged  in 1950 as green lungs of Upper Silesian Industrial Region, was design on the former mine waste dumps, refuse dumps and wastelands. In the Park area are located: a zoo, an amusement park, a planetarium, a swimming-pool, rose-garden, a heritage park and restaurants. It was supposed to be a huge area of entertainment and relax for hard working people employed in the coal-mine. See podcast (text in polish)
